The TECA INIFile control provides a quick and convenient method for reading and writing to INI files in your application. Unlike VB's standard file access functions or the FileSystem object, the INIFile control is built with the ability to understand the structure of an INI file. Its ability to automatically create and parse the contents of an INI file saves you the time required to manually code this logic in your applications. You can use this control to create, read, and write to one or more INI files. What makes the INFile control unique is its ability to represent ALL of the sections and data values that are contained in an INI file as collections -- making it easy to work with multiple sections and data values.

The INIFile control is invisible at runtime but you can easily access its properties in design mode by placing the control on your form and then opening up it's properties.

The INIFile control's custom property page allows you to identify the name of the INI file that you want to work with. The Browse button displays Window's Open File dialog enabling you to interactively locate the desired INI file. The [Section] and Entry= properties allow you to easily retrieve and set the data values contained in each section as well as set default values that will be used.

In addition to these properties the INIFile control provides a number of methods to manipulate the content of an INI file. For instance, the control's GetAllSections and GetAllEntries methods populate collections that allow you to work with multiple groups of values from the INI file.
