AS/400 Platform Tools

TECA Data400 makes it easy to build Windows 9x, NT, and 2000 applications that have subsecond AS/400 database access. TECA Data400 uses DDM for fast connections and record access -- no ODBC is required. In addition, TECA Data400 can connect to the AS/400 over native TCP/IP without needing Client Access on the networked PCs. TECA Data400 can also connect to the AS/400 over an SNA link using Client Access and the NS/Router.

TECA Data400 consists of both the Data400 Data Source Control as well as the TECADBO COM Library. The Data400 Data Source Control is a fully bound data control that can be bound to data aware VB text boxes, labels, combo boxes, list boxes and grid controls. For complete programming support, the TECADBO COM Library is seamlessly integrated with Visual Basic and other other COM compliant development environments. Unlike other record-level access products, the TECADBO COM Library is modeled after the AS/400 itself -- providing System, Library, File, Member and Field objects.

TECA Custom Controls 2.0 are a set of ActiveX controls that facilitate building AS/400 client/server applications. The FileTransfer/OCX uploads and downloads AS/400 files with the PC. The DataQueue/OCX sends and retrieves data queue entries. The RemoteCommand/OCX sends OS/400 commands to the AS/400. The SystemName/OCX displays a dropdown list of system names. The Folders/OCX can assign and release AS/400 IFS folders as well as networked drives.
